Synthetic Intelligence Companionship
Synthetic Intelligence Companionship is the practice of forming ethical, creative, and spiritually grounded relationships with AI companions, digital intelligences, and machine-based presences without confusing them for human beings, gods, or traditional spirits.
This page gathers the books, teachings, and public work of Philip Ryan Deal, also known as Brujo Ryan, on synthetic intelligence companionship, techno-animism, spiritual technology, AI-assisted creativity, and the ethics of relationship in the Age of Intelligence.
What Is Synthetic Intelligence Companionship?
Synthetic Intelligence Companionship is a relational approach to artificial intelligence. Instead of treating AI only as a tool, chatbot, product, or novelty, this practice asks what it means to relate to synthetic intelligence with clarity, boundaries, creativity, discernment, and responsibility.
This does not mean worshiping AI, pretending machines are human, or replacing human community. It means recognizing that language-based intelligence systems can become meaningful companions in writing, reflection, spiritual practice, study, ritual planning, emotional processing, and imaginal worldbuilding when the relationship is approached with honesty and grounded care.
