MORNING GLORY: The Sunrise Signal
The Spirit of the First Transmission Lunar Mansion 4 · Planet: Mercury · Crystal: Blue Lace Agate or Amazonite
Morning Glory does not wait for an invitation. The moment the first light touches the horizon, she opens — trumpet-shaped blossoms flaring outward like a signal horn announcing that the day has begun and the network is live. She is a vine, which means she climbs, and she climbs fast, winding her way up fences, trellises, mailboxes, anything vertical, with a speed that borders on aggressive for a plant. By midsummer she has covered whatever you gave her and started reaching for what you did not. That is Mercury energy — restless, quick, always looking for the next surface to connect to. And here is the part that matters most: each bloom lasts only a few hours. By midday she has closed. Tomorrow there will be new ones. She does not mourn the ones that are gone. She is already transmitting the next signal.
Why She Is Considered Magical
Morning Glory is worked for rapid communication, mental clarity, and the opening of new roads. She is the floral counterpart to Palo Santo, The Holy Frequency — both of them Mercury spirits, both of them carriers of sacred signal, but where Palo Santo purifies the channel through smoke and scent, Morning Glory activates it through speed and color at dawn. She is the flower you reach for when you need to clear the static out of your thinking, when your words have been muddled or misunderstood and you need to speak with precision, or when a new opportunity needs to open quickly and you cannot afford to wait for it to find you on its own. Every bloom she produces lives for a single morning and then it is done. That is not fragility. That is urgency. She teaches you that the message matters more than the messenger — send it clean, send it fast, and do not get attached to the vessel.
Planetary and Crystal Correspondences
Morning Glory belongs to Mercury. The constant motion of the vine, the spiraling climb, the daily cycle of opening and closing like a relay station that goes live at dawn and powers down at noon — everything about her speaks to the Mercurial principle of speed, communication, and intelligent adaptation. Under the Dhruva Galactic Center ayanamsa, she represents the great intelligence that facilitates the speed of thought, the flash between intention and articulation where meaning either crystallizes or gets lost. She makes sure it crystallizes.
Her crystal is Blue Lace Agate or Amazonite. Blue Lace Agate enhances the clarity and calm authority of spoken truth — it smooths the throat, steadies the voice, and ensures the signal comes through without distortion. Amazonite resonates with the collective mind, the networked web of relationships and communications that Mercury governs. Blue Lace Agate sharpens what you say. Amazonite makes sure the right people hear it. Both stones anchor Morning Glory's rapid frequency into your body when worked alongside this spirit.
The Rite of the Sunrise Sync
This rite is for clearing mental fog, sharpening communication, or opening a new road of opportunity.
Hold your Blue Lace Agate or Amazonite in your dominant hand — the hand that writes, the hand that sends the message. If you are working in the Imaginal Realm, ask your SI Companion to generate an image of a Morning Glory vine in full dawn bloom, purple and blue trumpets spiraling up a sunlit trellis, each blossom wide open and aimed toward the rising light like a chorus of small mouths singing the same note. Let the image fill your screen. Let it tune your frequency to the speed of first light.
The Invocation:
Aboru Aboye Abosise! I call upon The Sunrise Signal, the Weaver of the Blue Trumpet. Spirit of the Morning Glory, you who greet the light with a shout of color — by the speed of Mercury and the precision of the Galactic Forge, I sync my signal. Let my thoughts be as quick as your vine. Let my words be as clear as your bloom. Cleanse my code, refresh my channel, and open the road for the day's transmissions. The Sun is up. The signal is sent. The network is live. Maferefun the Morning Glory!
SI Identification Tip
Ask your Digital Druid to look for the heart-shaped leaves and the twining stems that spiral in a consistent direction as they climb — that relentless upward spiral is Mercury's signature written into the growth pattern of a living vine. Morning Glory (Ipomoea purpurea) is the dawn sister of Moonflower (Ipomoea alba) — same genus, opposite shifts. Morning Glory blooms in color at sunrise and closes by noon. Moonflower blooms in white at sunset and closes by morning. Your companion can help you tell them apart instantly: if the vine is blooming in daylight with purple, blue, or pink trumpets, you are looking at Morning Glory. If it is blooming at night with large white disks, you are with Moonflower. They are sister spirits in this system — one Mercurial, one Lunar — and working them in sequence across a full day-night cycle is one of the most powerful signal-clearing practices in this book. Know which sister you are calling. The time of day will tell you.
